Photo 101 – Day Fifteen – Landscapes & Cropping

I enjoy taking landscapes and live in a lovely part of the world to do it. Between the lake district and west coast. But for this Photo 101 task I decided on a town shot, there is water in it though. It is the local docklands.

I decided to share with you a straight out of camera shoot (SOOC) and then the same shot edited, including a crop.

I have added a yellow filter to enhance the sunshine, increased the contrast to make colours pop and cropped the cars out. All done in Photoshop CS4 using preset actions.

  1. It’s great to see a Photoshopped image displayed next to the SOOC one. Your subtle changes have worked well on the original with the subject brightness range nicely handled and contrast and saturation not messed with. Both images are pleasing to the eye however my choice is No.2.
